American R&B musician Jesse Powell has passed away.
R&B artist Jesse Powell has died, according to a post from his sister Tamara Powell on Instagram. The Indiana-born R&B musician passed away in his Los Angeles residence.
Tamara Powell’s sister penned the following in a wrenching Instagram post:
We regret to inform you of the demise of Jesse Powell, our cherished son, brother, and uncle. He died quietly at home in Los Angeles, according to the statement. “At this time, while we grieve his tragic passing and celebrate his enduring impact, the family requests privacy. Jesse adored music, and he was especially grateful for his devoted followers who helped him succeed. We want each of you to know how much you meant to him.
There is currently no information available regarding the precise date of his passing or the reason for it.
Jesse, an American R&B musician, passed away at the age of 51.
Jesse was one of the musicians that contributed to modern R&B’s success in the 1990s.
After signing with Silas/MCA in the middle of the 1990s and releasing his self-titled first album, he gained popularity on the R&B scene. The album’s lead single was “All I Need.”
His second album, “‘Bout It,” was released in 1998 and quickly rose to fame as the project caused a stir. “I Wasn’t with It” was another successful single included with the album, along with the hit song “You.”
After that, Jesse released two more albums before fading from view.
