Ahmed Ololade, a Nigerian singer-songwriter, was born on January 13, 1995. He goes by the stage name Asake. YBNL Nation and Empire Distribution have signed him. “Asake” is the stage name he goes by, honoring his mother.
His debut album, Mr. Money with the Vibe, was released in September 2022, shattering the previous record for the largest opening day for an African album on Apple Music. The album became the highest-ranking debut album from Nigeria in the history of the chart when it debuted at number 66 on the Billboard 200 list. In June 2023, he released his sophomore album, Work of Art, which debuted at number 66 on the Billboard 200.
Asake was nominated for his first international award, the Best African Music Act at the 2022 MOBO Awards, after winning Break Out Artist of the Year in 2022. All Africa Music Awards in 2020.
In addition, he was ranked number five on Rolling Stone Music’s Future 25, and in 2023 he was nominated for Best New International Act at the BET Awards.
With the release of his viral track Lady, he shot to fame and garnered a ton of attention from prominent figures in the entertainment industry as well as internet media. Career
Although Asake loved dancing, he also had a soft spot for music and also gifted with a sonorous voice, he often thrilled his close friends and classmates with originally composed songs and covers of popular songs. He collaborated with Broda Shaggi to release the single Star in 2019. The song did pretty well in the market and helped more music fans to learn of his talent. Encouraged by this win, he released the single Lady in January 2020. The song went viral on social media because different influencers reposted it on their page and videos.
