Bimbola Oladokun, often known by her professional as Bayanni, is an Afro-pop singer and songwriter; born in Nigeria on June 25, 1997. Together with his parents and brothers, he lived in Lagos City during his childhood.
He is from a distinguished family that is well-known for its charitable deeds and high moral standards. His parents brought him up in a Christian home and made sure he was exposed to the Bible’s lessons at a young age.
When he was younger, Bayanni cherished watching music on TV, the radio, his phone, or a cassette player. Music by African and Western performers exposed him to Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, R&B, Fuji, Highlife, Soul, and Pop sounds.
With that, he was able to showcase his talent in the local church choir. He developed his vocal range and started developing himself in choir.

He attended a prestigious private nursery and primary school in Mainland Lagos to finish his elementary school and also enroll in a highly esteemed secondary institution for his high school education.

How was Bayanni discovered?
Don Jazzy, the head of the record label, took note of Bayanni and he was signed on August 23, 2022, as one of the recruits to the Mavins Record label, joining Magixx. His signing to Mavins Records marked the beginning of his success.
From an early age, Bayanni decided to pursue music as a career, and instead of focusing on gospel music, he chose to specialize in mainstream music.
Inspired by popular musicians like Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Olamide, he started writing Afrobeats and Afropop songs in the comfort of his school dorm room and parents’ home.
His songwriting skills significantly improved in a matter of months, and he started going to recording studios near his university to record his tunes. He soon established connections with other sound producers in Lagos and Ile-Ife, who were impressed by his musical ability.
Since he quickly rose to fame in the OAU music scene, he began to get requests for collaboration and invitations to play at events hosted by the school.
Bayanni started recording covers of well-known songs, which he then shared on social media. He recorded and published the Ckay cover of Felony in April 2021. On October 14, 2021, he released Davido’s cover of Jowo. On October 19, 2021, five days later, he released the cover of Peru by Fireboy DML.
Bayanni released his eagerly awaited song, African Beauty, on April 12, 2022. Blaise Beatz was the song’s producer, and Michael Synx mixed it. Pharouk Damilola Films shot the music video for the single, which was also released that same day.
