Sarkodie Early Life:

Sarkodie was born Michael Owusu Addo on July 10, 1988, in Tema, Ghana. He is the fourth of five children born to Augustine Owusu Addo and Maame Aggrey. Sarkodie’s father was a security guard and his mother was a petty trader.

Sarkodie grew up in a poor neighborhood in Tema. He started rapping at the age of 4, and he quickly developed a talent for it. He would rap about his life experiences and the challenges he faced growing up.

In 2003, Sarkodie participated in the Kasahare Level rap competition, which was organized by Adom FM. He won the competition, which gave him a major boost to his career.

Sarkodie Career:

Sarkodie began his music career in 2009, releasing his debut studio album, Makye. The album was a commercial success, and Sarkodie was quickly recognized as one of the most promising rappers in Ghana.

In 2012, Sarkodie released his second studio album, Rapperholic. The album was even more successful than his debut, and it established Sarkodie as a major force in the African music scene.

Sarkodie has since released five more studio albums: Sarkology (2014), Highest (2017), Black Love (2019), No Pressure (2021), and Jamz (2022). He has also collaborated with some of the biggest names in African music, including Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.

In addition to his music career, Sarkodie is also a successful entrepreneur. He is the founder of the Sarkodie Foundation, which supports underprivileged children in Ghana. He is also the co-founder of Sarkcess Music, a record label that has signed some of Ghana’s most promising new artists.

Sarkodie has won numerous awards for his music, including the Vodafone Ghana Music Award for “Artiste of the Decade”. He was also the first African rapper to win the BET Hip Hop Award for “Best International Flow”.

Sarkodie Personal Life:

In 2018, Sarkodie married Tracy Owusu Addo. They have two children together, a daughter named Adalyn and a son named Michael Jr.
