Akwa-Ibom lovers stage their own kidnapping, seek N4 million ransom.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has taken swift action and arrested the suspects responsible for faking their own kidnap. Imaobong Sampson and her boyfriend, Beltus Ebong, were caught in their hideout in Mbierebe Obio village, Ibesikpo Asutan Area of the state. This was after the command received a report of a kidnapping case in the area and the Anti-Kidnapping Squad was deployed to investigate and apprehend the culprits. The Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Monday.

The police commander stated that the investigation revealed that the alleged kidnapping was a plan concocted by the supposed victim, Imaobong, and her boyfriend, Beltus. They were both arrested in their hideout and it was discovered that they had falsely claimed that N4 million was demanded from her family. The police have confirmed that there was no actual kidnapping and the couple will now face legal consequences for their actions.

This statement was made by the police after the arrest of Imaobong, who confessed to staging her own abduction with the help of her boyfriend and others. The motive behind this was to extort money from her aunt, who lives outside of Nigeria. This incident highlights the dangers of greed and dishonesty, and the importance of upholding moral values and honesty in our actions.
