Coach Banyana Banyana exhorts Nigeria team members to give it their all when playing in Paris 2024

Desiree Ellis, the head coach of South Africa’s senior women’s national team, has challenged her players to give it their all; if they want to defeat Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the Olympic playoffs in Paris in 2024.

The fourth round CAF Women’s Olympic qualifying match between South Africa, the reigning WAFCON champions, and the Falcons is sure to be exciting. The winner after two legs will play in Group C at the Paris Games.

On April 5, Banyana is scheduled to travel to Abuja for the first leg. On April 9, 2024, Banyana will host the nine-time African champions at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

On Monday, March 25, Banyana Banyana arrived in Pretoria for their camp, and on Tuesday, they had their first official training session.

Ellis commended her team ahead of the qualifiers, stating that she was pleased with what she witnessed following the first official training session.

The final squad announcement is still a few days away, so I need to be sure I have the combinations just right.

“It won’t be an easy game against Nigeria, so I have to be positive. We must give it everything we have got because we have proven our worth over time and remain a top team“.

We must be careful to strike the correct balance between youth and experience as well as the combinations.
