According to the Defense Headquarters, at least ninety-seven people are on the wanted list.
These individuals are wanted for committing violent crimes throughout the nation, including acts of terrorism and insurgency.
Among them is Simon Ekpa, the quarrelsome leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra.
Friday saw the release of the photographs and names of those who had been declared wanted by Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations.

The military high command was preparing to declare certain terrorists wanted, as our correspondent had exclusively reported last week.
This time, the 97 people listed as wanted had no bounty attached to them, in contrast to November 2022 when the military listed 19 bandit leaders as wanted and offered a N5 million reward to anyone in Nigeria who could provide information leading to their capture.
There were insurgents from the South-East and North Central regions among the names and images, along with terrorists from the North East and North West.
In the North West Zone, which has been devastated by banditry, 43 people have been listed as wanted. These include Alhaji Shingi, Malindi Yakubu, Boka, Dogo Gide, Halilu Sububu, Ado Aliero, Bello Turji, Dan Bokkolo, Labi Yadi, Nagala, Saidu Idris, Kachalla Rugga, and Sani Gurgu.
33 persons were listed as wanted in the Northeast, which has been devastated by terrorists from Boko Haram and the Islamic State for West Africa Province.
Here are a few of them: Ali Ngule, Umar Tella, Abu Mutahid, Mallam Mohammad, Mallam Tahiru Baga, Uzaiya, Ahmad, Sani Teacher, Baa Sadiq, Abdul Saad, Kaka Abi, and Mohammad Khalifa.
Moreover, the Southeast and North Central Areas were declared to be in need of 21 insurgents and violent criminals.
A few of them are Friday Ojimka, Amobi Chinonso Okafor aka Temple, David Ezekwem Chidiebube, High Chief Williams Agbor, David Ndubuisi, Simon Ekpa, Chika Edoziem, Egede, Zuma, ThankGod, Flavour, and Mathew.
