Nigerian exam body, NECO begins SSCE in Saudi Arabia

The Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSCE) will now be administered internally in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to the National Examinations Council (NECO).

This comes after Nigeria International School in Jeddah was successfully accredited by a delegation headed by Prof. Dantani Wushishi, the Registrar of NECO, and Dr. Yusuf Sununu, the Minister of State for Education.

The delegation evaluated the school facilities during the visit, according to a statement released on Saturday and signed by Azeez Sani, Acting Director, of NECO’s Directorate of Information and Digital Communication.

In his speech, Sununu urged the faculty, staff, and students at the school to uphold their reputation as excellent representatives of Nigeria throughout the Gulf States Cooperation Council, not just in Saudi Arabia.

He claimed that following a thorough evaluation of the school’s instructional resources, including its exam rooms, classrooms, labs, library, curriculum, syllabus, and overall security, the school was determined to be qualified to be considered as an International Center for NECO SSCE Internal.

He said that the school received full accreditation as a result of a thorough evaluation.

Prof. Wushishi, Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, addressed the administration and personnel of the school about the significance of school accreditation after providing a brief overview of NECO’s development.

According to Wushishi, this was done to make sure schools had enough space for instruction and learning that would be exam-friendly.

The delegation was greeted at the school by Amb. Bello Kazaure, the consular general, Alhaji Abdulkadir Maikudi, the school’s proprietor, and other personnel.

Together with the NECO registrar, the minister also went to Nigeria House in Jeddah, where they spoke with the consular general and other personnel.

Other international examination centers run by the National Examination Council are located in Equatorial Guinea, Niger, Togo, the Republic of Gabon, and the Benin Republic.
