Five Kidnapped Women And Their Child Were Found in Zamfara

After two months in captivity, Joint Task Force Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) troops in Zamfara have freed five women and two infants.

On Thursday Joint Task Force Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) found five women and two babies were rescued by troops in Zamfara State.

The news heard that from Marange village in the Kagara Local Government Area of Niger State, they were abducted in January 2024.

“After months of being held captive, the victims were freed as a result of the constant offensive actions conducted by the watchful troops in the Kuyambana area.

According to Omale, “The victim’s escape from the terrorists’ enclaves came as a result of the troop’s unwavering pressure on the bandits, which led to the successful rescue operation.”

He continued by saying that after going through debriefing sessions, the victims were quickly turned over to the appropriate authorities so that the appropriate steps could be taken to reunite them with their families.

Maj. Gen. Godwin Matkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division of the Nigerian Army Sokoto, praised the soldiers’ professionalism during the rescue effort.

“Omale stated that Matkut encouraged them to keep up the momentum until all evil forces are eliminated, guaranteeing the return of peace and normalcy in the area.” (NAN)
