United States has offered to help Nigeria fight kidnappings — FG

Today’s news heard that ” The United States government and a few other foreign nations have offered to help Nigeria fight high-profile crimes that have been terrorizing the country.

Speaking with reporters at the State House in Abuja following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris revealed this.

Because of the high rate of kidnapping in Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered security services to guarantee the safe return of every victim of kidnapping particularly people in the North.

287 students were taken from the Kuriga, Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna, Local Education Authority (LEA) primary school last Thursday. In Sokoto, 16 Qur’anic students were abducted by bandits as well.

When suspected terrorists attacked the Buda community in Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna, on Monday, no fewer than 61 people were taken hostage.

There have also been reports of women being abducted from their Internally Displaced Peoples (IDP) camp in Borno.

The minister stated: “We are aware that other countries have also offered assistance in helping Nigeria.”

“However, we can assure you that the government is currently examining these proposals and will communicate its stance soon.”

The minister claims that security services are attempting to free those who have been kidnapped as quickly as possible.

The President reaffirmed his order to security services and the Ministry of Defense to make sure that our children are returned home safely, he stated “These kids and individuals who were taken hostage by criminal elements will return to safety very soon“.

Additionally, the president has ordered that none of these criminal elements will receive a ransom payment from the government.
