BVN registration hits 61.16m People

According to the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System, there are currently 61.16 million registered Bank Verification Numbers (BVN).

This was made public by NIBSS on its website on Saturday. It also stated that as of Friday, March 15, 2024, the BVN is 61,166,384.

The agency stated earlier in the year that there were 59.9 million BVNs as of January 26.

This suggests that between late January and mid-March, there were 674,280 new BVN registrations.

Following requests from banks and telecom providers to link SIM cards to bank accounts and phone numbers, Nigerians were required to register their BVN.
