Charles Agada gave the Flying Eagles an early lead in the second minute of Friday night’s game at the Accra Sports Stadium, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

But in the twenty-first minute, Idrissa Traore tied the score for Senegal with a low shot that beat the clock.

Chibuzor Izuogu’s outstanding free kick equalized the score to make it 2-2, allowing Nigeria to get back into the contest.

Senegal advanced to the semifinals after Pape Diouf scored the game-winning goal from the penalty spot.

The Flying Eagles lost their first two games, 2-1 to Uganda and 3-2 to Senegal, and finished the campaign with just one victory against South Sudan.

After Senegal and Uganda, Nigeria came in third place in the group, with South Sudan placing fourth.

Following the game, Bosso expressed his disappointment with the outcome and laid the blame on his lackluster performance preparation.

“We played the best game of the tournament thus far, so I’m disappointed.

I watched a few games in Uyo and other locations because I didn’t have enough time to scout for players. I saw Daga and Chibueze, two Enyimba players, there,” Bosso remarked.

At the 2019 African Games in Rabat, Morocco, Nigeria won the silver medal in men’s football following a 2-0 loss to Burkina Faso in the championship match.
