Gunmen kidnap the Edo PDP chairman shortly after meeting with Obaseki.

The incident reportedly happened on Friday, March 15, 2024, shortly after Aziegbemi had a meeting with Governor Godwin Obaseki in Benin City. However, the Edo State Government confirmed the development in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Hon. Chris Nehikhare, on Saturday. The statement assured that the government is working closely with the authorities to investigate the situation and take appropriate actions.

Nehikhare emphasized that no stone will be left unturned in the efforts to secure the safe release of the PDP chairman. He assured the public that the state government is fully committed to working with security agencies and utilizing all available resources to bring the victim home safely.
