Jeff Bezos, the Founder of Amazon Overtakes Bernard Arnault

On Thursday the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, surpassed French businessman Bernard Arnault to become the richest person in the world.

As per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index data, Bezos possesses a net worth of $201 billion. His net worth increased from $199 billion on March 20 to $2 billion. After surpassing Bernard Arnault, Jeff Bezos is now the richest person in the world.

According to the article, Bezos’s wealth comes from his investments and streaming industries in addition to his cloud computing and e-commerce business, Amazon.

After seeing his net worth drop by $3 billion in a single day, from $202 billion to $199 billion, Arnault lost his top spot.

Arnault, the owner of Louis Vuitton and Moët Hennessy (LVMH), was ranked second on the list of richest people in the world despite a notable decline in his net worth.

Arnault, who has an empire spanning 75 fashion and cosmetics brands, including Sephora, is characterized as an investor and art collector.

The French businessman also owns Tiffany & Co., which he bought in 2021 for a whopping $16 billion.

The Frenchman is closely followed in third place by Tesla’s owner, Elon Musk, whose net worth is $189 billion.

Other two founders of Microsoft and Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates, round out the top five with estimated net worths of $179 billion and $153 billion, respectively.
