The soldiers who were on a mission to maintain peace in the community were killed by the militant leader (name withheld).

Throughout the week, soldiers pursued the militant leader who was on the run, finding him in the riverside town of Igbomorotu in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. However, the town’s residents fled after the militants demolished a few houses, leaving the community in a state of pain.

According to reports, the military has decided to expand their search for the militant leader and his men to include Peremabiri, a community located in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

The militant leader’s origins, however, continue to be the subject of controversy. Some claim that he is a native of the Awawa community, while others identify him as Akwagbe, a community that is closely related to Okuama.

Since the military personnel were killed on March 14, detectives have been watching him to gather information that will help them apprehend the suspect.

According to reports, he gave N1 million to the Boro family to support their anniversary and restored the run-down home of the late Niger Delta freedom fighter, Isaac Boro, in Kaiama, Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

The suspect was said to be an enthusiastic follower of Isaac Boro who never stopped honoring the late liberation fighter.

Some claimed he was involved in bunkering, while others said he helped stop crude oil theft in the state’s Bomo axis. These claims could not be independently confirmed.
