Mr. Peter Obi Requests a Review Of The Budget For 2024

Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the general election of 2023, has counseled the legislative and executive branches of government to thoroughly examine the 2024 budget to allocate funds to important areas.

Obi made this statement in response to the disputes surrounding the 2024 budget.

He claims that there is still time to review the Appropriations Act and make sure that funds from the federal government are allocated to vital sectors like agriculture, poverty alleviation, and security, among others.

“Having followed the controversies trailing the 2024 budget, and having read some of the budgetary provisions and allocations of resources, “I wish to respectfully appeal for a total review of the entire budget,”.

Since the budget is still being implemented, the legislative and executive branches should review it right away so they can make urgent changes to allocate funds to important areas.

“Given the challenging times we are in, the nation’s resources should be appropriately allocated to vital areas like security, combating poverty and addressing the issues of hunger and food insecurity, and power supply.”
